La Paz is nested in a canyon at an altitude between 3600 m (11800 ft) and 4100 m (13400 ft).

In the center of the panorama lies the highest soccer stadium of the world. Behind looms the

snow-capped, 6439 m (21100 ft) high Mt. Illimani. On the right side the houses run all the way

up to the 4058 m (13300 ft) high Altiplano. The city on the plateau is called El Alto. That's where

the airport of La Paz lies. It goes without saying that this is the highest commercial airport in

the world.
