Germany,
2007
With my new position in Switzerland
came some business trips to Germany. Apart from a half year research
stay in Munich I have only limited experience with our northern
neighbors. I thus took the chance to get a closer look to some of my
business destinations.
Dresden, January 2007
Dresden is probably one of the most
attractive cities of Germany. Several of the greatest historical
buildings of Europe can be found here. Moreover, the city recently
evolved into one of the largest micro-tech industry hubs in Germany.
Since we went into business with one of them I was guest in Dresden for
a few days.
Freiburg im
Breisgau,
February 2007
I spent a day in Freiburg together
with Claudia for leisure. We stayed at a nearby Black Forest Spa hotel
for one week in winter.
Berlin,
March 2007
i traveled to the German capital to
visit another microsystems company. My last visit to Berlin was more
than 10 years ago. Much has changed since then; a lot of construction
was done in the former no man's land between East and West Berlin.
Hanover,
April 2007
Each year Hanover hosts the
largest industrial trade fair in the world. This time I helped setting
up the booth of our company. After work, I slipped away to see the town.
Nuremberg,
May 2007
Nuremberg is another busy trade
fair city of Germany. Again, I helped in setting up the company booth at
a sensor fair. After work, I enjoyed some time in the pretty town
center.
Bremen,
June 2007
During a business trip to a wind
power plant manufacturer at the German North Sea coast and a visit at a
micro-tech company I spent an evening in Bremen.
Frankfurt am
Main,
November 2007
Frankfurt was another business
destination for a meeting with a big German automotive company. Frankfurt is one of the most
bustling business cities in Germany. It is well known for banks,
trading and industry. It's one of the few cities in Europe with a
downtown of high rise buildings.
