Japan
Tokyo, June 2009
During Japan's rainy season I
visited several automotive business customers. Most of them have their
main facilities close to Tokyo, conveniently accessible by commuter and
highspeed trains. On the weekend I toured the city which hasn't changed
much since my work assignment 12 years ago.
Kamakura,
December 2009
Business relations to Japanese
customers usually need a lot of support, since trust and consistency
have high priority in their way of life. I therefore traveled to Tokyo
once more in winter 2009. Over weekend I spent one nice day at nearby Kamakura.
Nagano,
January 2010
In January, I supported my
employer's Japanese sales office at an automotive electronics show in
Tokyo. I spent the weekend with the sales manager in the snow of the
Japanese Alps.
Yokohama,
May 2010
I went on another business trip to
Tokyo in spring. On the weekend colleagues of the Japanese sales office
showed me their hometown Yokohama south of Tokyo.
Kawaguchiko (Fuji
Five Lakes),
December 2010
Before Christmas 2010 I travelled
again to Tokyo. After a long and productive meeting and nice business
dinner I spent Saturday at Mt. Fuji. The majestic volcano can be reached
from Tokyo by train within two hours.
Shirakawa-go,
February 2011
This winter visit to Japan was an
ideal opportunity to introduce the Swiss Cheese Fondue to my Japanese
co-workers and to enjoy snow and hot spring in the remote mountains.
