Costa
Smeralda, Sardinia, Italy, July 2003
During the summer of 2003 Claudia
and I spent
a week at the fancy northern coast of Sardinia,
called the 'Costa Smeralda'. As the name indicates, the sea is colored
along this coastline
like emeralds. We used to follow the beautiful coast in a rental car,
always on the search for a nice cozy beach. One highlight was a boat
trip to the Arcipolago di La Maddalena. Between the tiny islands were lots of
shallow waters which turned the sea into a patchwork of deep blue and
emerald areas. The water was incredibly clear such that boats seemed to
hover over ground.
