Maldives

We spent our beach holidays at the Reethi Beach Resort on a spacious island in the Baa atoll. Our bungalow had direct access to a white beach framed with palm trees. The island was surrounded by a shallow reef which could be easily explored by snorkeling right from the door of the bungalow. The current was so strong that we could silently drift through schools of colorful fishes. The water was clear enough to see down the whole edge of the reef to the 30 m (100 ft) deep bottom of the ocean. On our snorkel trips we met morays, squids, reef sharks and rays. A few times a school of dolphins passed by the island and every day we have been served a romantic sunset.
